The group of Radio86 Finnish listeners performing Taiji on the Great Wall. (Image: CRI Nordic)Participants to the Radio86 listeners' trip to Beijing caught the Chinese media's attention when they performed traditional Taiji exercises at the Badaling Great Wall yesterday.
The 21-member group from Finland performed Taiji movements they had learned from team member Helmiina Kauhanen, who has been practising Taiji for more than 8 years. They performed a set of the traditional Chinese exercise to show their understanding of the Chinese way of life.
The listeners' trip was organized by Radio86 to give some of its listeners an inside look at Chinese culture. The trip will last a week and will bring the group to some of Beijing's top tourist spots.
The group's Taiji performance, which attracted both local and foreign audiences, was recorded by a CCTV crew. It will be broadcast on CCTV's daily program, "China Today."
