Despite an early night before and a modest consumption of 3 beers, it was hard to get up the next morning. I had an interview with a teenage Chinese girl about love and life. I was a little bit worried the girl wouldn't be very talkative, and I was right - because she wasn't.

And except for that one, we also had major difficulties finding her, as the interview took place at the biggest shopping mall in Beijing: Golden Treasure Shopping Center! Please, do not ask me why we chose that venue?! The area is so huge, that it apparently takes more than ONE week for one person, to go through every shop! One week!? Do you know what I mean now by HUGE?! Just walking around it took us half an hour!

After the interview we went to Beijing's Technical University, where we were supposed to meet with a clothes designer at 2 pm. Unfortunately, Mr Designer had forgotten all about us and came 50 hours late. But we had a great time just sitting there, doing nothing?! When he finally arrived he was forgiven as he gave us two of his freshly designed t-shirts! Nice one! I conducted a fairly different interview as the guy was actually designing punk-rock-clothes, and was very short of words. But the t-shirts looked great!

After that it was time to try something traditional Chinese, and of course I am talking about Hot Pot! This delicious meal is enjoyed by boiling your own selection of foods, in a pot (as the name says). The meal was divine but the sauce was a bit heavy, or at least I realized that when I (super full) made the smart choice of WALKING home. It wasn't very far, maybe about 1,5 km, but smarty-ol'-me had bought 3 liters of water bottle, that I had to carry with me... And that was a bit of a hassle.

One kind Chinese guy on a bicycle actually stopped and offered to carry my bag with the water in his bicycle basket (an offer, which I, politely declined). Except for that nice experience, the whole walking idea was a BAD choice! I came home exhausted, but then again. I saved some money on the taxi ride?! Isn't it wonderful how economic you can suddenly get when you are in a town where a taxi ride actually costs you peanuts compared to home? Darn. I should be ashamed of myself.
