The 2006 Beijing International Dance Festival will kick off in the Chinese capital on October 1st. This year's theme is "Bodies Discovering Dreams" .

Dance companies with worldwide fame from Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, the US, Canada, England, Italy and Sweden, in addition to well-known Chinese dance groups and companies from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangxi, will each present performances, lectures, seminars, and working studio activities. These will be held at the Nine Theatre, Beijing Orient Pioneer Theatre, Beijing Modern Dance Experimental Theatre, 798 South Gate Space, 798 Workshop Harte Arts Center, and Caochangdi Workstation.
