Tiger month starts on 4th February 2010, which also marks the beginning of the solar year of the Tiger. Celebrations for Chinese New Year actually take place with the start of the lunar new year on 14th February 2010, which also happens to be Valentine’s day.
Whether it’s Chinese New Year of Valentine’s day, it is a good reason to celebrate. Traditionally, the New Year festivities went on until the full moon, for fifteen days, but nowadays most Chinese people observe a shorter break. On the seventh day of the lunar year, there is also a birthday celebration for everybody. This is the day when you are said to become a year older. So everybody grows a year older at the beginning of the new year. A big birthday celebration indeed! Chinese people also celebrate birthdays on the lunar date of birth, as well as on the solar date.
Tiger month is the first month of the spring season, a time of new growth and often symbolic of new romance. Buds on the tree start to blossom and in the animal kingdom it is the courting season. The onwards and upwards energy of spring and Tiger month can also be conducive to getting new projects and ventures off the ground.
As the Earth Ox year draws to a close, there is a double dose of Tiger energy this month, at the head of the Tiger year there is the Tiger month. All the exuberant Tiger energy can push you into springing into action after the sluggishness of all the earth in the previous Ox year. 2010 is a Metal Tiger year and the metal energy trims back the emergent wood energy of the Tiger to allow plans to be shaped. February is an Earth Tiger month, so big blue sky thinking and grand ambitions can be brought back down to earth. With the new moon on Valentine’s day at the start of the lunar year of the Tiger will it be an encouraging time for love and romance during Tiger month? Will the double Tigers help you start your year as you mean to go on? Check your animal sign and find out what Tiger month brings forth.
