Yao Ming makes comeback after surgery

China's most famed basketball star Yao Ming returned to the court yesterday for the first game after having foot surgery five months ago.

Yao helped the Chinese team win the game against Serbia 96-72 at the Stankovic Continental Cup in Hangzhou.

China's head coach Jonas Kazlauskas praised the performance of the Houston Rockets' center after the game.

Yao scored 11 points in 12 minutes, grabbing four rebounds and blocking three shots, China.org.cn says.

Wang Zhizhi led China with 18 points and Yi Jianlian, New Jersey Nets forward, added 14 points for the 11 consecutive warm-up victory, China.org.cn writes.
