China's foreign exchange reserves top 1.8 trillion dollars

China's foreign currency reserves soared to 1.8 trillion dollars (1.1 trillion euros) at the end of June, marking a rise of 35.73 percent from last year, the People's Bank of China announced on Monday.

The forex reserves grew 11.9 billion dollars (7.4 billion euros) in June, down 28.1 billion (17.7 billion euros) from the same month last year, Xinhua writes.

Between January and June of this year, China's foreign exchange reserves grew by 280.6 billion dollars (176.9 billion euros), up 14.3 billion (9 billion euros) from the same period last year.
