The State Council published on Tuesday an outline of the country's intellectual property rights strategy, emphasizing plans to improve IPR protection within five years and to raise public awareness over the same period of time.
According to Xinhua, the document aims to make China a country with a fairly high level of IPR creation, use, protection and management by 2020.
Implementing the strategy would improve the country's innovation ability and the socialist market economy system. It will also enhance China's business and national competitiveness as well as its relationship with the rest of the world, the outline said.
The key points of the strategy include the perfection of the IPR system, promotion of its creation and use, strengthening of IPR protection, avoidance of IPR abuse and nurturing respect for IPR, Xinhua reported.
