Tomorrow kicks off the Xinjiang cultural week in Sweden, Norway and Germany.
On Saturday 8th of September the Xinjiang Song and Dance Company will perform their first show in the Nordic countries in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The Xinjiang Song and Dance Company was established in 1949. It includes artists from 12 ethnic groups of China, such as Uygur, Kazak, Han, Hui, Kirgiz, Ozbek, Tatar, Manchu and Xibe. After several shows in Sweden this renowned tour will continue to Oslo on the 16th of September.
On Sunday the 9th, the yearly Asian Festival will be organized at the East-Asian museum in Stockholm. Visitors will get a chance to tour the museum's newest exhibitions, The Middle Kingdom and China's Book History, and visit the library dedicated to Far East Asia. Tyghusplan will serve as the backdrop for the festival which will feature Chinese Kunqu Opera (predecessor of Beijing Opera) and calligraphy performances. You will also have a chance to join the Radio86 listeners' gathering.
The group will then continue on to Berlin on the 24th of September, where they will perform in various venues.
