Wenzhou is located in south Zhejiang. Perhaps best known in Europe for lighters and leather goods, its fame in China is due mainly for the number and nature of those who left Wenzhou to seek their fortunes across China and around the world. Their reputation for being entrepreneurs – or at least, very resourceful and enterprising people – precedes them. This week, we go to Wenzhou to learn more about how some Wenzhounese moved up by moving out.
