I never treasured the summer and winter holidays when I was a student. But now, I really realize how wonderful it is to have a long holiday although it’s only a ten-day annual leave.

I think I have a lot to do during the vacation. I need to go to the hospital for my first pregnancy check. I am also expecting a crazy shopping with my best friends. This Sunday is my mother’s birthday; I should prepare a lovely gift for her. Every year this time, I have to rack my brain to find out a unique and meaningful gift. It becomes harder and harder now. If I had another 10 days off, how wonderful it would be!

According to the new holiday policy, from next year, every Chinese will have 115 days legal holidays including weekends, 3 days for spring festival, 3 days for National Day, 1 labors’ day, 1 Mid-Autumn day, 1 Tomb-sweeping Day, and 1 Dragon Boat day.

It’s very good that there are more traditional holidays on the list. Most of the old people are very happy to enjoy the traditional holidays, and to our youth, we can not only have a rest, but also pay more attention on Chinese tradition. It’s quite important to us! We watch the western movies and cartoons much more than the local ones; we enjoy the western fast food more than Chinese food; we take the Valentine’s Day, Christmas and other foreign holidays much more important then Chinese holiday. We are the generation who has been westernized. I don’t mean that is so bad, but sometimes I think that the good Chinese tradition can not be found on us now.

Maybe the new holiday policy can give us a chance to pick up the Chinese tradition we lost.

It’s great, isn’t it?
